Composite Driveway Gates
A composite driveway pair costs €600–€950 for the gates alone, 3 to 3.5 m wide. Hung on sound piers, fitting adds €500–€2,000; electric swing gates supplied and fitted run €2,500–€3,500.
Pairs across the drive: the width, the piers, the wind on solid boards, and going electric.
Free, no obligation. One local installer prices it, not five.

See a composite gate on your own opening
Upload a photo of the side passage, garden entrance or driveway, pick the gate, the boards and the frame, and see it in about a minute. Your request goes to one gate installer who covers your county.
Step 1 of 3
No photo handy?
Step 2 of 3
Drawing your gate. This takes 20 to 50 seconds.
Your request is already through, so you can close this page if you need to.
That's an AI preview, not a drawing to build from. The installer measures the opening before pricing it.
We couldn't do this one. Some photos don't work: a clearer, wider shot in daylight usually does.
Your request is in: you'll still get a call with a price.
Across the drive
A composite pair, done properly
41% of Irish homes are detached, and many have a drive with an entrance a pair of gates can close. Composite pairs come 3 to 3.5 m wide and about 1.4 to 1.6 m high, each leaf half the opening.
Solid boards are the point of composite, and also the thing to plan for: a closed leaf is a sail in the wind. The piers or posts must be strong, the hinges sized for the weight, and a ground stop or drop bolt holds the leaves shut.
Going electric later? Say so now: the installer can leave a duct for the cable and choose posts that take a motor. Motorising a gate you already have costs €1,200–€3,500+.

Questions
Questions we get asked
How much are composite driveway gates?
€600–€950 for a 3–3.5 m pair, gate only, plus €500–€2,000 fitting on piers or posts.
Can composite driveway gates be electric?
Yes. A composite pair or a sliding gate can take a motor: €1,200–€3,500+ on a gate you have, or €2,500–€3,500 for electric swing gates supplied and fitted. Solid boards catch the wind, so the motor has to be sized for it.
Are composite gates strong enough for a drive?
Yes, on a proper frame and sound piers. The frame carries the boards; the piers carry the frame.
Sliding or a pair?
A pair suits a level drive with room for the leaves to swing; a sliding gate (€900–€1,100 gate only) suits slopes and wide openings.
